District 9 Baseball and Softball:

TUESDAY-BASEBALL

Brockway 7, Kane 5 – Caleb Daugherty recorded three hits and scored twice while Gage Park drove in a pair of runs for the Rovers.

Moniteau 8, Brookville 0

Hollidaysburg 9, Clearfield 3

Curwensville 17, Glendale 1 – The Golden Tide scored 13 runs in the first inning.

TUESDAY-SOFTBALL

DuBois 4, Forest Hills 3 – Theresa McBride belted a grand slam in the fourth inning to give the Lady Beavers all the runs they would need for the win.

Brockway 10, Kane 3 – not a final…game was suspended in the top of the third inning

Brookville 12, Moniteau 3 – Lily Adamson drove in three runs for the Lady Raiders.

Clearfield 11, Hollidaysburg 9

Curwensville 12, Glendale 1 – Addison Siple pitched a five inning one-hitter with 10 strikeouts, and she hit a triple, drove in two runs, and scored twice for the Lady Tide.

Penn State-DuBois Baseball and Softball:

The Penn State-DuBois baseball team has an overall season record of 20-and-1. Next on the Lions’ schedule is a home double-header against Penn State-Allegheny on Friday.

Tuesday afternoon, the Penn State-DuBois softball team lost at Penn State-Beaver, 10-8. The Lady Lions host Kent State-Tuscarawas for a double-header on Friday.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

Pittsburgh Pirates fell to the Washington Nationals, 5-4, at PNC Park last night.

The Bucs host Washington for game three of the four-game set this evening. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:40. Tune in for the Pirates pregame show at 6:15 on Connect FM.

Altoona Curve:

The Pirates’ double-A affiliate, Altoona Curve, lost to the Portland Sea Dogs last night, 4-2. The Curve are now 0-and-10. Game two of the six-game series in Altoona is scheduled for a 6pm start tonight.

Pittsburgh Penguins:

The Pittsburgh Penguins dropped their final regular season game in St. Louis Tuesday night. The Pens lost to the Blues, 7-5.

The Penguins head into the Stanley Cup Playoffs this weekend. The Pens’ first round foe will be the cross-state rival Philadelphia Flyers. Listen for all Penguins playoff games on Connect FM.
