DuBois Little League Baseball All-Stars – East Regional Tournament:
Yesterday, the DuBois Junior Little League All-Stars faced the other Pennsylvania team in the Junior League Baseball East Region Tournament at Stern Family Field in DuBois City Park. The West Chester All-Stars team upended DuBois, 7-3, and eliminated DuBois from the competition. The East Region Tournament continues in DuBois with six teams still contending for the championship – Pennsylvania (West Chester), New Jersey, Delaware, Maine, Rhode Island, and Maryland.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates claimed game one of their three-game home series against Arizona. The Bucs downed the Diamondbacks 3-2 in walk off, extra inning, home run style last night.
Pittsburgh takes on the D-Backs again tonight. Tune in for the Pirates pregame show at 6:15, and listen for the first pitch at 6:40 this evening on Connect FM.
Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve host a six-game Eastern League series against Chesapeake starting tonight. The first pitch of this evening’s game between the Curve and BaySox at PNG Field in Altoona is scheduled for 6:30.
Pittsburgh Steelers:
Tomorrow, the Pittsburgh Steelers begin Training Camp in Latrobe at St. Vincent College. Camp practices and activities are scheduled to run through August 17th. The first preseason game for the Steelers is set for August 13th at home against Green Bay. Pittsburgh’s first regular season game will also be at home on Sunday, September 13th against the Atlanta Falcons.
