Little League Baseball All-Stars – Junior East Regional Tournament:
The Junior League Baseball East Region Tournament championship will be decided today at Stern Family Field in DuBois City Park. On Wednesday, the teams from New Jersey and Delaware won their way into this morning’s championship game, scheduled to begin at 11.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates were shut out by Arizona, 3-0, Wednesday afternoon at PNC Park.
Pittsburgh hits the road for a pair of four-game series in Cincinnati and Milwaukee. Tonight, the Pirates take on the Reds with a pregame show at 6:45, and the first pitch scheduled for 7:10 this evening on Connect FM.
Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve lost to Chesapeake Wednesday afternoon, 9-2. Game three of the Curve and BaySox series at PNG Field in Altoona is scheduled for a 6pm start this evening.
Pittsburgh Steelers:
Training Camp is underway for the Pittsburgh Steelers at St. Vincent College in Latrobe. This week’s practices are padless, low-contact, acclimation days. Regular practices and drills begin on Monday, and will continue in Latrobe through August 17th. The first preseason game for the Steelers is coming up in two weeks, Thursday, August 13th at Acrisure Stadium against Green Bay. Pittsburgh’s first regular season game will also be at home on Sunday, September 13th against the Atlanta Falcons.
