Pittsburgh Pirates:
It was a dreary weekend in Cincinnati for the Pittsburgh Pirates, and not just because of the rain. The Bucs lost three of four games to the Reds, including Sunday’s 10-2 loss.
Pittsburgh now starts a four-game series in Milwaukee. The Bucs pregame show tonight will start at 7:15, and the first pitch is scheduled for 7:40. Catch all the action on Connect FM.
Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve earned a series split with Chesapeake Sunday with a 4-3 win at PNG Field. The next six-game Eastern League series for the Curve begins Tuesday at Erie. First pitch for the Curve and Sea Wolves is scheduled for 6pm tomorrow.
Pittsburgh Penguins:
Tommy Novak has signed on as a Pittsburgh Penguin through the 2030 season. The Pens signed the 29-year old forward to a three-year contract extension, worth an average of more than $4.6-million per year. Novak joined Pittsburgh in March of 2025, and he was the only Penguin to play in every single regular season game last year. During his NHL career, Novak has scored 65 goals, and registered 94 assists.
Pittsburgh Steelers:
Training Camp for the Pittsburgh Steelers will bump up to the next level today at St. Vincent College in Latrobe. Acclimation, padless practices are over, and the Steelers will be in pads for their drills and workouts starting this morning. Steelers Training Camp is scheduled to continue two more weeks. The first preseason game for the Steelers is coming up on Thursday, the 13th at home against Green Bay. Pittsburgh’s first regular season game will also be at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday, September 13th against the Atlanta Falcons.
