PIAA Basketball Tournament – Semifinal Round:
The Elk County Catholic Crusaders came up a little short in the semifinal round of the PIAA Basketball Tournament Monday, falling to defending Class 1-A champion Neighborhood Academy, 46-37. ECC was within two points of the Bulldogs with a little more than three minutes to go in the game, but just couldn’t get any closer at PennWest Clarion’s Tippin gymnasium. Chase Simbeck topped the Crusaders’ scoring sheet in the game with 22 points. ECC’s season comes to an end with a record of 27-and-3.

Penn State-DuBois Baseball and Softball:
The Penn State-DuBois baseball team is 2-and-0 after Sunday’s season-opening double-header wins over Central Maine Community College. Tomorrow, Penn State DuBois is scheduled to play a pair of games at Kent State-Tuscarawas.
Penn State-DuBois softball starts its regular season schedule on Saturday with a double-header on the road at Kent State-Tuscarawas.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates lost to the Minnesota Twins in a Spring Training game in Florida Monday, 5-1. The Bucs are scheduled to face the Houston Astros this afternoon. The season-opener for the Pirates is just nine days away – Thursday, March 26th, The Bucs will start the 2026 regular season against the Mets in New York.
Pittsburgh Penguins:
The Pittsburgh Penguins buried the Colorado Avalanche, 7-2, in Denver last night.
Wednesday night, the Penguins will be in North Carolina to battle the Hurricanes. Listen for the opening puck drop tomorrow night at 7. The pregame show begins at 6:00pm on Connect FM.
