PIAA Basketball Tournament – Quarterfinal Round:

TODAY:

The Elk County Catholic Crusaders stand as the lone District 9 team still alive in the PIAA basketball championship tournament. ECC will be in action tonight in the Class 1-A boys quarterfinal round. Elk County Catholic takes on the champs of District 10, Erie First Christian. The game is scheduled to be played at Clarion’s Tippin gymnasium this evening.

Pittsburgh Penguins:

The Pittsburgh Penguins were outscored by the Vegas Golden Knights last night, 6-2. Saturday, the Penguins will battle the Utah Mammoth. Listen for the opening puck drop tomorrow night at 9. The pregame show begins at 8pm on Connect FM.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates claimed a Spring Training game win over the Atlanta Braves in Bradenton Thursday, 5-2. The Bucs will play the Detroit Tigers this evening. The season-opener for the Pirates is less than two weeks away. On Thursday, March 26th, the Bucs start the 2026 regular season schedule against the Mets in New York.

Penn State-DuBois Softball and Baseball:

On Thursday, the Penn State DuBois softball team split a pair of pre-season games in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. After losing to Madison College 2-1, Penn State-DuBois came back to defeat Brevard University by a 5-4 mark.

On Sunday, the Penn State-DuBois baseball team opens its season with a double-header against Central Maine Community College at Showers Field in DuBois.
