DUBOIS – A monument celebrating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. and the consolidation of DuBois and Sandy Township is planned for the municipality.
As Sandy Township Supervisor Barry Abbot says, this effort by the DuBois Rotary Club will use imported black granite to commemorate these special occasions.
“An idea came, why don’t we do a design of a keystone, our state symbol with a bronze inlay,“ explained Abbot. “It would fit perfect into the SAL Veterans Memorial, it would sit adjacent to it
At a cost of around $15,000 dollars, lawmakers agreed to use leftover DuBois Days funds to help pay for this initiative.
