ELK COUNTY – The Elk County Sheriff’s Office is warning you about a recent wave of phone scams locally.
Authorities say the scammers claim to be Sheriff’s Deputies and tell you that you missed a jury duty date and a warrant has been issued for your arrest.
They then ask you for money and personal information.
The Elk County Sheriff’s Office says that these calls are scams and to never send money or personal information over the phone, and contact authorities if you receive one of these calls.
