UNDATED – Pennsylvania schools could soon be required to ban cell phones during the school day.
Both the state House and Senate have approved legislation that would ban cell phones with exceptions made for medical needs, certain special education plans, translation services and teacher-approved use.
Schools would also have to tell families how to receive emergency alerts and how to contact students during the school day.
The legislation is now awaiting the Governor’s signature.
