DUBOIS – Four members of the DuBois Area High School softball team were recognized by the DuBois City Council after helping an injured woman last month.

Coaches say that Calli Bash, Stasija Daniluk, Addison Edinger, and Bryanna Wilmoth heard cries for help when at the Highland Street softball field and immediately ran into a wooded area, called 911, and provided first aid to a woman who had a severe leg injury.

Graduate Stasija Daniluk says they simply acted when someone needed help.

“I don’t think any of us were really scared because we just saw the situation and decided what to do in that moment, and I think we did the best possible.”

The city honored the four students at their Wednesday night meeting for their quick thinking and selfless actions.
