Brookville Man Accused of Weapon Threat

BROOKVILLE – A Brookville man is behind bars after allegedly threatening a woman with a knife.

According to police, on July 7th troopers responded to a Julia Way residence after receiving reports that a woman was threatened with a knife. 

Once on scene, the victim told police that 41 year-old Matthew Hesterly had allegedly threatened her while holding a knife, she then fled to a neighbor’s house before calling police

Authorities allegedly found a knife in the bathroom, later finding Hesterly in the ceiling of the residence.

He was then taken to the Jefferson County Jail, where he faces felony terroristic threats charges.
