DUBOIS — It was a successful Red Kettle campaign season for the DuBois Salvation Army. The holiday season goal of $75,000 was not only met, it was far-exceeded.
DuBois Salvation Army Captain Andrew Spooner reports the total amount raised between November 19th and December 23rd was more than $81,000. A matching grant of $25,000 from Paris Uniform Services in DuBois was a crucial part to the goal being reached.
Spooner said that 159 DuBois-area families were provided Christmas assistance this year, and 345 children received Christmas toys. Donations through the local Red Kettle campaign will stay in the DuBois area, allowing The Salvation Army to provide food, clothing and financial assistance to those who live in DuBois, Falls Creek, Luthersburg, Penfield, Rockton and Troutville.
