Woodland Man Accused of Child Endangerment

WOODLAND – A Woodland man is facing several charges after allegedly being found while unconscious with a child in the car.

On May 23rd police responded to a store in Bradford Township after employees claimed a man was passed out in a vehicle.

Once on scene police learned employees got the man, 48 year-old Chester Shugerts, and a small child out of the car and into the store for the child’s safety.

When speaking to Shugerts police noticed several signs of impairment and performed a sobriety test.

Shugerts was taken to the Clearfield County Jail where he now faces felony child endangerment, driving under the influence, and other drug charges.
