DUBOIS – A DuBois man has been charged after police say he was driving while under the influence leading to a car crash.
On May 14th police responded to Route 219 near Brubaker Road in Washington Township for a crash with entrapment.
First responders were able to extract a woman who was tapped inside the vehicle that was lodged in a flatbed trailer.
When police spoke to the driver of the vehicle, 35 year-old Kevin Steele, they noticed signs of impairment. He was then placed into custody where police found a silver spoon with suspected methamphetamine residue.
The woman trapped in the vehicle was taken to the hospital where police say she will likely lose multiple fingers on her right hand.
Steele’s toxicology report allegedly showed methamphetamines in his system during the time of the crash. He is has now been charged with aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, reckless endangerment, and multiple DUI charges.
