Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates outlasted the San Diego Padres last night into this morning. The Bucs nipped the Padres, 3-2, in a dozen innings.
The Bucs will face the Padres again in San Diego tonight. The Pirates pregame show starts at 9:15, and the first pitch of the contest is scheduled for 9:40pm. Pittsburgh Pirates baseball comes your way on Connect FM.
Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve begins a six-game, home series against Erie tonight. Game one has a start time set for 6pm.
District 9 High School Football:
It’s just three days away! Friday night, the District 9 high school football regular season begins. The Brockway Rovers will open their season at Keystone. Rovers football will come your way live on Sunny 106 and Tri-County – dot – TV with kickoff time Friday at 7pm. Other D9, Tri-County area games include Brookville playing at Union-AC Valley; Punxsutawney will host Bradford; Clearfield plays at Bellwood-Antis; Curwensville hosts Northern Bedford; and Ridgway has a game at St. Marys. Saturday evening, the DuBois Beavers open their season at Erie.
College Football:
Coming up in nine days is the start of the 2026 college football season. On Thursday, September 3rd, the regular season schedule begins for Western PA teams as Clarion hosts West Virginia Wesleyan, and IUP plays at Ashland. Then on Saturday, September 5th, the 18th ranked Penn State Nittany Lions will host Marshall in Happy Valley; and Miami of Ohio will play the Pitt Panthers in Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh Steelers:
The Pittsburgh Steelers will close out their preseason schedule at Buffalo Thursday night. Kickoff time is 7pm. The regular season schedule begins on Sunday, September 13th when the Steelers host the Atlanta Falcons.
