Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates battled back from an eight run deficit last night, but still lost 8-5 to the Detroit Tigers at PNC Park.

Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve begin a six-game, Eastern League series in New York this evening. Altoona faces the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Game one of the series starts at 6:07 tonight.
District 9 High School Football:
District 9 high school football teams throughout the Tri-County area continue their preseason practices this week. Regular season games begin on Friday, August 28th. That evening, Brockway will open the season at Keystone. The game will come your way live on Sunny 106 and Tri-County – dot – TV. In other week one games, Brookville travels to Union-AC Valley; Punxsutawney will host Bradford; Clearfield plays at Bellwood-Antis; Curwensville hosts Northern Bedford; and Ridgway has a game at St. Marys. Then on Saturday, the 29th, the DuBois Beavers open their season at Erie.
Pittsburgh Steelers:
The Pittsburgh Steelers closed out their Training Camp sessions in Latrobe on Monday. Practices have moved to the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex until the start of the regular season. Friday night, Pittsburgh hosts the New York Jets for the second preseason game. Kickoff time at Acrisure Stadium is 7pm. The third and final preseason game for the Steelers will be at Buffalo on Thursday, August 27th.
