Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates are in California today as they begin an extended road trip through the rest of August. The Bucs face the Dodgers in LA tonight. The Pirates pregame show starts at 9:45, and the first pitch of the contest is scheduled for 10:10pm. Pittsburgh Pirates baseball comes your way on Connect FM.
Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve notched a 7-5 win over Binghamton last night. The Curve continue their series in New York this evening against the Rumble Ponies. Game time is set for 7pm.
District 9 High School Football:
Next Friday night, the District 9 high school football regular season begins. On August 28th, the Brockway Rovers will open their season at Keystone. Rovers football will come your way live on Sunny 106 and Tri-County – dot – TV with kickoff time at 7pm. In other week one games, Brookville plays at Union-AC Valley. Then on Saturday, the 29th, the DuBois Beavers open their season at Erie.
College Football:
The start of the 2026 college football season is less than two weeks away. On Thursday, September 3rd, the regular season schedule begins for Western PA college teams as Clarion will host West Virginia Wesleyan, and IUP plays at Ashland. Then on Saturday, September 5th, the Penn State Nittany Lions, ranked 18th in the nation, will host Marshall; and Miami of Ohio will play the Pitt Panthers in Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh Steelers:
Tonight, the Pittsburgh Steelers host the New York Jets for preseason game number two. Kickoff time at Acrisure Stadium is 7pm. Next week, the Steelers will close out their preseason game schedule at Buffalo on Thursday.
