PUNXSUTAWNEY – A Punxsutawney man is facing multiple charges after allegedly breaking into an apartment while posing as an animal control officer.
On April 25th police responded to the Jefferson Street Apartments after receiving reports of a break-in.
Once on scene police learned the victim woke up around 1am by someone knocking on her apartment door. The man at the door, later identified as 62 year-old Martin White, claimed he was with animal control and he was there to take the victim’s dog for loud barking.
He then allegedly used a key to enter the apartment without permission, the victim stated that White began rummaging through her clothes before abruptly stopping and leaving the apartment.
White was taken to the County Jail where he faces felony criminal trespass, loitering, and harassment charges.
