PUNXSUTAWNEY – A Punxsutawney man is facing several charges after allegedly lying about his identity during a traffic stop.
According to police, on January 31st they pulled over a vehicle on West Mahoning Street for invalid insurance. The driver, later identified as 42 year-old Michael Altman, allegedly told officers he did not have his ID and identified as his brother.
Altman was later in the Clarion County Jail on active warrants when he allegedly admitted to a relative that he lied to police because he was nervous about a drug deal.
He is now facing false identification, hindering apprehension, and multiple traffic offense charges.
