DUBOIS – Two Pittsburgh natives have been jailed after allegedly stealing a car in DuBois.

On March 11th police were called to Sheetz on DuBois Avenue where the victim claimed they left their car running while inside and it was stolen.

Police located the car the next day through traffic cameras with a Subaru Impreza. Police then found the Subaru and performed a traffic stop. The driver, 32 year-old Victoria Lanese, allegedly told police that 34 year-old Joseph Rivera allegedly stole the vehicle.

This allegedly matched footage gathered from Sheetz. Police also discovered that Rivera had multiple warrants out of Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties.

Police out of Brookville recovered the stolen car after Rivera allegedly attempted to get gas at a GetGo, he allegedly abandoned the vehicle and got into the Subaru driven by Lanese.

Both were taken to the Clearfield County Jail on theft charges.
