District 9 / PIAA Football Playoffs
Class A: Only one District 9 football team remains in the playoffs. Class A champs, the Port Allegany Gators, are alive and well, and tonight they play in the quarterfinal round of the PIAA playoffs. The 12-and-0 Gators will take on District 10 champion Greenville at Corry High School. Greenville’s record is 11-and-1. Kickoff time is set for 7pm.
Pittsburgh Penguins:
The Pittsburgh Penguins are back in the ‘Burgh, and tonight the Pens face the Minnesota Wild at PPG Paints Arena.
The opening face-off is scheduled for 7 tonight. The Pens-Wild pregame show begins at 6pm on Connect FM.
College Football: Saturday Schedule
Nebraska (7-3) at Penn State (4-6), 7pm
Pitt (7-3) at #16 Georgia Tech (9-1), 7pm
Assumption University (8-2) at IUP (7-3), 1pm – NCAA Division II Regional Playoffs
Pittsburgh Steelers:
The Pittsburgh Steelers will battle the Bears in Chicago on Sunday. Kickoff time is 1pm. It’s still unknown whether injured Aaron Rodgers will start at quarterback for the Steelers, or if backup Mason Rudolph will be the signal-caller.
College Basketball:
Thursday: UCF 77, Pitt 67 – Pitt’s record fell to 4-and-2
Tonight: Penn State DuBois Men and Women’s teams play at Penn State Schuylkill
Saturday: Penn State DuBois Men play at Penn State Lehigh Valley; Penn State hosts Providence; Clarion-Penn West is hosting Lake Erie; IUP goes up against Ashland University in Johnstown
Sunday: Pitt will host Quinnipiac
