District 10 Little League Softball and Baseball All-Star Playoffs:
DuBois Little League All-Star Tournament action begins today. The DuBois major softball all-stars will face the all-stars from Potter-McKean-Cameron County-Smethport. The winner will advance to play against Brookville on Wednesday. The District 10 Little League All-Star baseball tournaments begin next week.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates have now lost eight of their last 10 games. The Bucs fell to the A’s in Oakland last night, 11-2.
Tonight, the Bucs play the A’s again in Oakland. The Pirates pregame show on Connect FM starts at 9:15. The first pitch of tonight’s game is scheduled for 9:40.
Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve start up a six game, Eastern League series in Akron tonight. The Curve-Rubber Ducks game will begin at 6:35.
The Frank Varischetti All-Star Football Game:
Preparations are being made for the 11th annual Frank Varischetti All-Star Football Game in Brockway. This year’s game will be played on Friday, June 26th, at Brockway’s Frank Varischetti Field. Each year, the contest features District 9 players who recently graduated. Two dozen of those players will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship prior to the game.
