District 9 / PIAA Football Playoffs
Class 1A: District 9’s newly-crowned Class 1A champion, Port Allegany, advances to the Quarterfinal round of the PIAA playoffs and will play District 10 champion Greenville at Corry High School on Friday night. Kickoff time is 7pm.
Pittsburgh Penguins:
The Pittsburgh Penguins are returning home from Sweden where they participated in a the NHL Global Series last weekend. On Friday, the Pens will face the Minnesota Wild at PPG Paints Arena.
Friday’s game begins at 7pm. The Pens-Wild pregame show begins at 6pm on Connect FM.

Assumption University (8-2) at IUP (7-3), 1pm – NCAA Division II Regional Playoffs
Pittsburgh Steelers:
The Steelers are holding on to their first place standing in the AFC North Division. With a season record of 6-and-4, the Steelers are ahead of Baltimore by one game. Sunday, Pittsburgh will play the NFC North Division-leading Chicago Bears on the road. The Bears are 7-and-3.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
Pittsburgh Pirates star pitcher Paul Skenes has earned yet another post-season honor. After being named the National League Cy Young Award winner, Skenes last week also was voted to the All-MLB First Team. It was the second-straight year he made the first team.
