District 9 High School Football: Week 3 Scoreboard

Brockway 42, Redbank Valley 6 – The Rovers used a balanced offensive attack of 251 yards rushing and 234 yards passing.

DuBois 56, Karns City 42 – Beavers quarterback T.J. Wingard had five TD passes.

Pittsburgh Steelers:

Four touchdown passes by Aaron Rodgers, and a late game 60-yard field goal by Chris Boswell boosted the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 34-32 win over the New York Jets Sunday. The Steelers will host Seattle in week two action this Sunday afternoon.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates had a rough time with the first place Milwaukee Brewers over the weekend at PNC Park. Sunday, the Bucs lost, 10-2. The Pirates are off today. They travel to Baltimore for a three-game series with the Orioles starting Tuesday night a game at 6:35. The Bucs-Orioles pregame show will begin at 6:10 tomorrow evening on Connect FM.

Altoona Curve:

The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve clinched a spot in the Eastern League playoffs with a 4 -2 win over Richmond Sunday. Altoona will play its final regular season series in Erie starting Tuesday night. Then the Curve will start a divisional playoff series, also against the Erie Sea Wolves, on Tuesday, September 16th.
