Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates fell, 7-3, last night to the Toronto Blue Jays at PNC Park. The Bucs and Blue Jays have an afternoon game today to wrap up the series. The pregame show starts at 12:10 on Connect FM. The first pitch is scheduled for 12:35.

Altoona Curve:

The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve came back from a three-run deficit to knock off Reading last night, 6-5. Pirates and Major League Baseball top prospect, Konnor Griffin, debuted for Altoona, and he had one hit, one RBI, and one stolen base in the game. The Curve match up with the Fightin’ Phils at PNG Field again tonight at 6pm.

Pittsburgh Steelers:

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ third and final preseason game is tomorrow evening. The Steelers will take on the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. Kickoff is 7pm. Pittsburgh’s regular season schedule begins on the road Sunday, September 7th with the New York Jets their fist opponent.

District 9 High School Football:

District 9 High School Football teams begin their regular season Friday night. The first games for our Tri-County area teams include Brookville hosting Keystone, Clearfield hosting Bellwood-Antis, Curwensville is traveling to Meyersdale, Karns City will visit St. Marys, and Ridgway plays at Redbank Valley. On Saturday, there will be two more season-opening games for District 9 teams. The Brockway Rovers will take on the Chucks in Punxsutawney at 6pm. Listen to live coverage of Rovers football on Sunny 106, and watch at Tri County dot TV. Also, the DuBois Beavers host General McLane at Mansell Stadium on Saturday afternoon with a 1pm kickoff.
