Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates lost two of three games in Chicago over the weekend including a 4-3 loss to the Cubs on Sunday.

The Pirates are back home, and tonight they open a three-game series with Toronto. Tune in for the Bucs-Blue Jays pregame show at 6:15 this evening on Connect FM. The first pitch of tonight’s Pirates game is scheduled for 6:40.

Altoona Curve:

The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve dropped a 6-5 decision to Richmond on Sunday. Despite yesterday’s loss, the Curve did well in Virginia winning four of the six games. After an off day today, Altoona will host Reading for an Eastern League series starting at 6 Tuesday evening.

Pittsburgh Steelers:

Saturday evening, the Pittsburgh Steelers came up short to Tampa Bay in their second preseason game. The Bucaneers upended the Steelers at Acrisure Stadium, 17-14. Pittsburgh’s final tune-up game will be Thursday evening in Carolina.

District 9 High School Football:

School starts this week, and so does the 2025 District 9 High School Football season. The first regular season games will be played on Friday when Brookville hosts Keystone, Clearfield will play host to Bellwood-Antis, Curwensville travels to Meyersdale, Karns City will be at St. Marys, and Ridgway plays at Redbank Valley. Then on Saturday, there will be two season-opening games — Brockway visits Punxsutawney. Listen to live coverage of Rovers football on Sunny 106 and watch at Tri County dot TV; and General McLane will take on the DuBois Beavers at Mansell Stadium.
