Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates have won five games in a row, and the Bucs have swept a pair of series in the past 10 days. Yesterday, the Pirates made it a sweep of the Giants in San Francisco with a 2-1 extra innings win.

Pittsburgh gets to enjoy an off day today before opening a three-game series in Denver. The Bucs play the Colorado Rockies at 8:10 Friday night. The Pirates-Rockies pregame show will begin at 7:45 tomorrow night on Connect FM.

The Pirates made a couple of trades Wednesday. Third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes was dealt to Cincinnati for relief pitcher Taylor Rogers and minor league shortstop Sammy Stafura. Pittsburgh also made a pitcher-for-pitcher deal with Seattle. The Mariners get Caleb Ferguson, and the Bucs get Jeter Martinez. Major League Baseball’s trade deadline is today.

Altoona Curve:

The Pittsburgh Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve won in Portland, Maine last night, 6-2. Curve pitchers gave up only three hits to Sea Dogs batters. Altoona and Portland are scheduled to play game three of the six-game set with the first pitch at 12:05 this afternoon.

Pittsburgh Steelers:

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue Training Camp 2025 at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe. Another public practice and workout for the Steelers is scheduled for 2 this afternoon. Pittsburgh will have its first pre-season game at Jacksonville on August 9th.
