DuBois Little League All Star Baseball:
The DuBois Senior League All Stars are preparing for their first World Series game in South Carolina tomorrow morning. DuBois is representing the Eastern United States in the Senior League World Series in Easley, South Carolina. Game one pits DuBois against Illinois, representatives of the U.S. Central Region. The first pitch is planned for 9am Saturday. Tune in for all the live play-by-play action of the DuBois Seniors at the World Series on Connect FM.
The DuBois Junior League Baseball All Stars were pushed out of the East Region Tournament on Wednesday. DuBois hosted the East Region Tournament at Stern Field in DuBois City Park. On Thursday, Delaware claimed the East Regional championship with a win over West Chester, Pennsylvania.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates are coming off a rest day, and a home series sweep of the Detroit Tigers. Arizona is now in town for a weekend series. Tonight’s first pitch is scheduled for 6:40. Tune in for Pirates-D-Backs pregame show at 6:15 this evening on Connect FM.
Altoona Curve:
The Pittsburgh Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve grabbed a win over Chesapeake Thursday night, 5-2. The Curve host the Baysox for game four of the series at 6 tonight.
Pittsburgh Steelers:
The Pittsburgh Steelers started 2025 Training Camp at St. Vincent College in Latrobe yesterday. Coach Mike Tomlin said he sensed a lot of good energy at Thursday’s workout. He said there is “obviously a lot to coach and learn, but we’re just at the beginning of this thing, and … it’s reasonable to be really excited.” . The Steelers are scheduled to take the field again this afternoon at 2 for another public practice.
