At the Senior League Baseball East Region Tournament in Bangor, Maine, the DuBois Senior League All Stars just keep winning. DuBois shut out Massachusetts Saturday night, 10-0, and earned a spot in the East Regional Championship game at 1 this afternoon. Listen for the live action of the game today on Connect FM.
The DuBois Junior League Baseball All Stars are off to a winning start in the East Region Tournament they are hosting at Stern Field. Sunday night, DuBois upended New Jersey, 7-3. The 8 to 10 year old DuBois All Stars begin State Tournament competition in Drums, Pennsylvania today. DuBois is scheduled to play a first-round game against the All Stars from Lehigh at 4 this afternoon.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates started the second half of the Major League Baseball season by getting swept at home by the Chicago White Sox. Sunday, the Bucs lost 7-2.
Pittsburgh hosts Detroit for the next three games. The first pitch of this evening’s Bucs-Tigers game is set for 6:40pm.
Altoona Curve:
The Pittsburgh Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve fell to Akron Sunday, 9-2. The Curve did win the weekend series over the Rubber Ducks, two games to one. After a day off today, the Curve will host the Chesapeake Bay Sox for six games at PNG Field in Altoona.
Pittsburgh Steelers:
Training Camp begins this week for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Coaches and players will be gathering at St. Vincent College in Latrobe. The Steelers first public Training Camp practice is set for Thursday afternoon.
