DuBois Little League All Star Baseball:
At the Senior League Baseball East Region Tournament in Bangor, Maine, the DuBois Senior League All Stars defeated Connecticut, 12-2, on Thursday afternoon. DuBois is now 2 and 0 in the tourney and will go up against Maryland this evening. Tune in for live Senior League action on Connect FM at 7:30pm.
This weekend, the DuBois Junior All Stars are hosting the Junior League Baseball East Region Tournament at Stern Field. Games begin Saturday, but DuBois won’t play until Sunday night. DuBois will be facing the winning team of Saturday night’s contest between New Jersey and Massachusetts. Listen for DuBois Junior League All Star action at 8 Sunday night on Sunny 106, and watch at Tri County dot TV.
The DuBois 8 to 10 Year Old All Stars will start State Tournament action on Monday. The DuBois Minor All Stars will take on Lehigh at the tourney in Drums, PA.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The All Star break has come to an end for Major League Baseball, and the Pittsburgh Pirates are hosting the Chicago White Sox for three games this weekend, starting tonight.
At the midway point of the season, the Bucs have a record of 39-and-58. Pittsburgh is in last place in the National League Central Division, 18 and-a-half games behind the Chicago Cubs. The first pitch of this evening’s Bucs-White Sox game is set for 6:40pm.
Altoona Curve:
The Pittsburgh Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve also resume action following the All Star break tonight with a three-game home series against Akron. The Curve host the Rubber Ducks at 6:30 this evening at PNG Field in Altoona. The Curve embark on the second half of their season with a 41-and-45 overall record. Altoona sits in third place in the Eastern League’s Southwest Division.
