DuBois Little League All Star Baseball:
On Friday, the DuBois Senior League Baseball All Stars will be vying for the state championship. DuBois doubled up Newville last night, 10-5. The tournament is being played at Stern Field in DuBois City Park. Tune in for DuBois Seniors live action Friday at 11am on Connect FM and on Tri County dot TV.
The DuBois Junior Baseball All Stars lost to St. Marys, 4-1, in a District 10 game Wednesday evening. Since it was the first tournament loss for DuBois, the two teams match up again Friday to determine the district championship. Listen on Sunny 106, and watch at Tri County dot TV.
The DuBois Major All Stars begin Sectional Tournament play on Saturday. The first round opponent for DuBois will be French Creek at 2pm.Tune in for that game live on Connect FM, and on Tri County dot TV.
The DuBois 8 to 10 year-old All Stars have advanced to the Sectional Tournament in Meadville which starts Saturday.
DuBois Little League All Star Softball:
The DuBois 8 to 10 year-old softball All Stars won the Sectional Tournament championship Wednesday with a 10-0 win over LeBoeuf. The DuBois Softball Minors will begin State Tournament competition in Drexel Hill on Sunday
The DuBois Junior Softball All Stars are still alive in the State Tournament in Turbotville. DuBois grabbed a 21-5 victory over Caln Township Wednesday, and will face Radnor at 5:30 this afternoon.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates fell to Kansas City last night, 4-3. The Bucs have now lost six straight games, and two consecutive road series.
After an off day today, Pittsburgh will play the Twins in Minnesota at 8:10 Friday evening.
Altoona Curve:
The Pittsburgh Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve got shut out in Binghamton last night, 3-0. Altoona is now on a four-game losing skid. Game three of the Curve series in New York is scheduled to begin at 6:07 this evening.
