Downtown DuBois Preparing for Designation

DUBOIS – A group dedicated to revitalizing DuBois’ Downtown is preparing for designation through state agencies.

We spoke with Executive Director of Downtown DuBois, Shirley Dahrouge, on how being designated by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development would greatly help their efforts.

“Additional funding opportunities to our downtown,“ explained Dahrouge. “There is funding towards our overhead costs, but also additional grant funding for other types of facade and interior projects for businesses. It also opens up priority on DCED grants.”

Downtown DuBois will submit their request for designation today. If approved, DuBois would join the only 13 designated communities in the commonwealth.
