DuBois School District Proposes Budget With No Tax Increase

DUBOIS – The DuBois Area School District is proposing an over $77 million dollar budget for the 2026-27 school year with no tax increase for the tenth straight year.

District officials say that revenues are expected to rise about 3.7% to $74,948,068 dollars, however spending continues to rise. 

With costs tied to salaries, healthcare, special education, and cyber charter tuition, expenditures total $77,556,193 dollars, up 2.89%.

Superintendent Wendy Benton told us that despite a projected deficit on paper, the district remains financially stable.

“We are in a very solid position financially, and looking forward to the upcoming school year,” explained Superintendent Benton.

Next Wednesday, the School Board votes to adopt the proposed budget with a final adoption in June. You will be able to view the budget on the district’s website for 30 days before the June vote.
