DUBOIS – This week the DuBois City Council began the process of updating its Charter, the document that lays out how the city runs day-to-day.

Council member Sam Mollica, who has been working on the Charter, says these changes have been months in the making with input from city leaders, community members, and outside help.

“We worked on it really hard and there were probably like 10 or 12 different aspects of the Charter that we were doing,” explained Mollica

He went on to say that these updates will help clarify roles, especially reinforcing how the city manager handles daily operations.

This week, the council began adopting some changes to the Charter, including policies, procurement and contracting rules, and some revisions.
