District 9 Baseball and Softball:

Baseball Playoffs –

Wednesday’s DuBois and Allderdice Class 5A, Districts 9, 8 and 10 subregional playoff game was postponed. They’ll try to play at 4 this afternoon.

Also, Wednesday’s St. Marys versus Karns City D9, Class 3A championship; and the Punxsutawney and Clearfield battle for the Class 4A, District 9 championship games were postponed. Both matchups are on the schedule for this afternoon and this evening.

Also scheduled for today, in the Class A baseball playoffs semifinals, DuBois Central Catholic will take on Port Allegany.

Softball Playoffs –

Both of Wednesday’s Class A, District 9 semifinal playoff games, DuBois Central Catholic against Otto-Eldred, and Curwensville versus Northern Potter, were rescheduled for Friday afternoon.

Today, in the District 9, Class 2A semifinals, Brookville’s Lady Raiders are scheduled to take on Cranberry.

On Monday, Memorial Day, Punxsutawney and Clearfield will play for the D9, Class 4A title.

Tuesday, DuBois will face Central Mountain in the Class 5A subregional playoffs.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

Two wins in a row for the Pittsburgh Pirates! The Bucs triumphed over the Cincinnati Reds yesterday, 3-1. The Pirates begin a four-game Memorial Day weekend series with Milwaukee tonight. The first pitch of the Bucs-Brewers game in Pittsburgh is set for 6:40. Listen for the pregame show on Connect FM this evening at 6:15.

Altoona Curve:

The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve’s game in Akron was rained out last night. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Friday. This evening, the Curve and Rubber Ducks are scheduled to play the second game of the series at 6:35.
