District 9 Baseball and Softball:

TUESDAY BASEBALL SCOREBOARD

The Coudersport at Elk County Catholic game was canceled .

 

TUESDAY SOFTBALL SCOREBOARD

Brookville 12, Bradford 0 – Brookville earned its first softball shutout in six years. Jordan Daisley was 3-for-3 at the plate with a triple and two runs batted in for the Lady Raiders.

The Cranberry at DuBois Central Catholic; Forest Area at Brockway; Clearfield at Greater Johnstown; and Coudersport at Elk County Catholic games were canceled.

 

Penn State DuBois Baseball and Softball:

The baseball and softball Small College World Series for the United States Collegiate Athletic Association continued in DuBois Tuesday.

The number two seed baseball team, Penn State DuBois, stayed alive in the winner’s bracket with a 1-0 win over The Apprentice School last night. At 4 this afternoon, Penn State DuBois is slated to face Salem University at Showers Field.

The Penn State DuBois softball team, the number three seed in this week’s Small College World Series, was knocked down by Florida National, 8-0, Tuesday evening. At Noon today, Penn State DuBois will be playing Carlow University at Heindl Field.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates were on the short end of another one run ballgame, losing to the Mets, 2-1, in New York last night.

The final game of the series is tonight with the first pitch scheduled for 7:10. Listen for the pregame show on Connect FM at 6:45.

 

Altoona Curve:

Due to rain, the Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve had their home series opener with Harrisburg postponed last evening. The Curve and Senators will play a doubleheader at PNG Field today starting at 11am.
