Elk County Catholic 2, DuBois Central Catholic 0 – Jack Breindel pitched a three-hit shutout for the Crusaders and struck out six DCC batters.

Clearfield 11, Penns Valley 0 – Craig Mays pitched a no-hitter for Clearfield while striking out four.

St. Marys 12, Bradford 0 – Avery Eckels pitched a perfect game for the Lady Dutch, striking out 11. St. Marys remains unbeaten this season.
Penn State DuBois Baseball and Softball:
The Penn State DuBois baseball team has posted a 23-6 overall record as it prepares for a home double-header on Friday. Penn State DuBois will be hosting Penn State Beaver.
This evening, the Penn State DuBois softball team is scheduled to host a double-header against Carlow College. Then on Friday, Penn State DuBois will play two at Penn State Hazleton.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates’ bats woke up on the west coast last night, and the Bucs beat the LA Angels, 9-3. Game two of the Pirates-Angels series is tonight at 9:35. You can catch the pregame show on Connect FM tonight at 9:10.
Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve evened their season record at 8-and-8 by beating the Chesapeake BaySox last night, 2-0. The Curve and BaySox play game two of the series at Prince George’s Stadium at 11:05 this morning.
