District 9 Baseball and Softball:

THURSDAY BASEBALL SCOREBOARD

DuBois Central Catholic 7, Brookville 0 – Aiden Snowberger tossed his second no-hitter of the season, and nearly pitched another perfect game. Snowberger allowed only one Brookville base-runner in the game, and it came on a wild pitch in the fifth inning. Offensively, Trent Miller drove in two Cardinal runs as DCC improved to a record of 5-0.

 

THURSDAY SOFTBALL SCOREBOARD

Three games on Thursday’s softball schedule were postponed due to the weather – Moniteau at Brookville, Central Clarion at St. Marys, and West Branch at Curwensville

 

Penn State DuBois Baseball and Softball:

The Penn State DuBois baseball team takes its six-game win streak to Penn State New Kensington today. A double-header is scheduled. Meanwhile, the Penn State DuBois softball team will host Penn State Beaver for a double-header today.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates are 2-and-5 heading into their home-opening series against the New York Yankees. The Bucs host the Yankees at PNC Park this afternoon. Today’s Bucs-Yanks pregame show on Connect FM begins at 3:45. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:10pm.

 

Altoona Curve:

Tonight, the 2025 season begins for the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Double-A affilliate Altoona Curve. The Curve start up the season at home against the Chesapeake Baysox.

 

Pittsburgh Penguins:

The Pittsburgh Penguins kept it close, but still lost in overtime Thursday night at St. Louis. The Blues prevailed, 5-4. On Saturday, the Pens face the Dallas Stars. Listen for the Pens-Stars pregame show at 3pm, and the opening face-off at 3:30 Saturday afternoon … on Sunny 106.
