Pittsburgh Penguins:

Legendary and Hall of Fame Pittsburgh Penguins broadcaster Mike Lange has passed away at the age of 76. Lange was known for his funny and colorful one-liners and goal calls, and his smooth cadence calling Penguins hockey. Lange was the Pens’ play-by-play man for all five of the franchise’s Stanley Cup seasons. Not only was Mike Lange considered a great announcer; but players, coaches and Pittsburgh fans respected him as a great guy.

BOYS

Wednesday – Class A – Johnsonburg 56, DuBois Central Catholic 53 – Marek Hoyt netted 20 points to lead DCC

Class 4A – St. Marys vs. Bradford (TONIGHT)

Class 5A – DuBois vs. Punxsutawney (TONIGHT)

 

GIRLS

Wednesday – Class 2A – Kane 62, Brockway 35 – Sophia Schmader scored 11 points for the Lady Rovers

Class A – DuBois Central Catholic vs. Cameron County (Friday); and Elk County Catholic vs. Clarion-Limestone (Friday)

Class 3A – Brookville vs. Cranberry (Friday)

Class 4A – St. Marys vs. Bradford (TONIGHT)

Penn State DuBois Basketball:

The Penn State DuBois basketball teams will wrap up the regular season on Friday when they host Penn State New Kensington. The women’s game begins at 3, and the men are set to tip off at 6pm.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

Full-squad workouts continue this week for the Pittsburgh Pirates at their spring training facility in Bradenton, Florida. On Saturday, the Bucs will have their first spring training game against Baltimore.
