SLIGO – The former Sligo Volunteer Fire Department’s Treasurer is being charged after allegedly stealing over $14,000 dollars over a two year period.
According to State Police, 68 year-old Sherri Morris between April 21st 2022 and February 5th 2024 had stolen around $14,428 dollars.
When questioned privately, she allegedly admitted to using the funds for unauthorized purchases and stepped down as treasurer.
Now, she is facing theft charges.
