William E. “Red” Hilliard, age 85 of Troutville, PA was reunited with his loving wife on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
Born on January 27, 1941 in Helvetia, PA , he was the son of the late John E. and Grace A. (Troutman) Hilliard.
Red was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam Era.
On July 1, 1967 he married his wife of 55 years, Nancy (Rieg) Hilliard. She preceded him in death on February 1, 2023.
Red retired from Consolidated Gas Company in 1996 after 28 years of service. He, along with his wife Nancy were the owners/operators of Hilliard Bus Company for many years.
He was a past member of the Sykesville Lions Club, and a proud native son of Helvetia, PA. Red was a well-known baseball player and manager for the Troutville Tigers. He also enjoyed coaching youth baseball for many years. Red enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all things Pittsburgh sports. He loved working in his garden and mowing his grass. Above all, he loved his family and following their many activities.
Red is survived by his children; Bryon E. Hilliard and his wife Chrissy, Andrea L. “Andi” Giambanco and her husband Mike, both of DuBois, PA, and Erin A. Hilliard of Troutville, PA; four grandchildren; Tyler Hilliard and his fiancé Adriana, and Jaelyn Hilliard and Haylea and Antonio Giambanco and one brother Terry Hilliard of DuBois, PA
He was preceded in death by two sisters Jean Garskie, and Dorothy M. Hilliard and two brothers Richard and Jack Hilliard.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 4 – 7 PM and Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from 10:00 to 10:45 AM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.
A funeral service will follow at 11 AM from the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Orndorff officiating.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
