Elk County Catholic 41, DuBois 34 – Will Wortman was ECC’s leading scorer with 18 points, but the Beavers’ Maddox Bennett scored a game-high 21 points

DuBois Central Catholic 61, Glendale 45 – Both Zayden Jordan and Marek Hoyt tallied 13 points for DCC

Brockway 61, Sheffield 39 – Kyle Kennedy topped the Rovers’ scoring sheet with 15 points

DuBois Central Catholic 64, Johnsonburg 21 – Emma Ellensky led nine scoring players for the Lady Cardinals with 13 points

Penn State DuBois Basketball:

The Penn State DuBois basketball teams split on the road last night. Penn State DuBois men upended Penn State Shenango, 94-89; but the Penn State DuBois women’s team fell by a score of 67-51. Both Penn State DuBois basketball teams host Penn State Beaver Saturday afternoon.

 

Pittsburgh Penguins:

Captain Sidney Crosby was the hero once again for the Pittsburgh Penguins as they finished their seven-game road trip last night in Utah. Crosby put in an overtime goal to boost the Pens to a 3-2 win.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

Adam Frazier is coming back to Pittsburgh to play for the Pirates. On Wednesday, the Bucs finalized a one-year deal to reunite with the former All-Star. The deal reportedly is worth more than $1.5 million. Frazier has been in the Major League for nine seasons. He spent the first six of those seasons, from 2016 to 2021, with the Pirates.
