District 9 Basketball:

BOYS (Wednesday)

DuBois 45, St. Marys 21 – Maddox Bennett scored 18 points to lead the Beavers

Elk County Catholic 53, Punxsutawney 21 – Leading scorer for ECC was Chase Simbeck with 16 points

Clearfield 64, Philipsburg-Osceola 33 – Parker Collins had 13 points and 11 rebounds for Clearfield

 

GIRLS (Wednesday)

Punxsutawney 46, Elk County Catholic 36

Clearfield 50, Philipsburg-Osceola 21 – Mia Helsel scored 21 points for the Lady Bison

Penn State DuBois Basketball:

The Penn State DuBois men’s and women’s basketball teams return to action after an extended holiday break. Penn State DuBois men will play at Butler County Community College this evening. Both Penn State DuBois teams will host Berkeley on Monday evening.

 

Pittsburgh Penguins:

The Pittsburgh Penguins have lost four straight games. The Pens host Edmonton tonight.

The Pens-Oilers pregame show starts at 6:30. The opening puck drop is scheduled for 7 this evening… on Connect FM and Sunny 106.

College Football:

Tonight, Penn State squares off with Notre Dame in the semifinal round of the college football playoffs. The Nittany Lions play the Fighting Irish in the Orange Bowl in Miami with kickoff set for 7:30. A win over Notre Dame would send the Nittany Lions to the National Championship game where they would face either Texas or Ohio State.

 

Pittsburgh Steelers:

The Pittsburgh Steelers are strugging as they head into the AFC playoffs. Pittsburgh has lost four straight games. This Saturday, the Steelers will face the Ravens in Baltimore in the wildcard game of the AFC playoffs. Kickoff time is 8pm.
