District 9 Basketball:

BOYS (Monday)

Brockway 46, Union 45 – Caleb Daugherty led the Rovers with 17 points

Elk County Catholic 62, Sheffield 29 – Wil Wortman netted 20 points for the Crusaders

Johnsonburg 52, St. Marys 43 – Ben Paul scored 17 points for the Flying Dutch while Devlin Caskey added 16 points

DuBois, Brookville, Punxsutawney, and Clearfield games postponed due to weather

GIRLS (Monday)

Pittsburgh Penguins:

The Pittsburgh Penguins have lost three straight games, but will try to regroup during a five-game home stand starting tonight. The Penguins host Columbus this evening.

The Pens-Blue Jackets pregame show starts at 6:30. The opening puck drop is scheduled for 7 … on Connect FM and Sunny 106.

College Football:

Penn State squares off with Notre Dame in the semifinal round of the college football playoffs in just two days. The Nittany Lions play the Fighting Irish in the Orange Bowl in Miami Thursday night. Kickoff time is 7:30. A win over Notre Dame would send the Nittany Lions to the National Championship game against either Texas or Ohio State.

 

Pittsburgh Steelers:

The Pittsburgh Steelers are stumbling as they head into the AFC playoffs. Pittsburgh lost its fourth straight game, 19-17, to Cincinnati last Saturday. This Saturday, the Steelers must face the Ravens in Baltimore in the wildcard game of the playoffs. Kickoff time is 8pm.
