BOYS – Friday

Elk County Catholic 62, DuBois Central Catholic 32 – Aaron Straub notched his 1,000th coaching win for the Crusaders … he is believed to be only the second basketball coach in Pennsylvania to win 1,000 games during a coaching career

DuBois Christian Schools 53, Juniata Christian 31 – Isaac Smith netted 28 points for DCS

St. Marys 43, Bradford 38 – overtime – Ben Paul scored 24 points for St. Marys

Brookville 68, Punxsutawney 33

Kane 26, Ridgway 24

GIRLS – Friday

DuBois Central Catholic 47, Elk County Catholic 27 – Both Emma Elensky and Julia Sebring scored 13 points for DCC

DuBois Christian Schools 39, Juniata Christian 11 – Anna Shenkle scored 18 points for the Lady Eagles while Ella Shenkle netted 17 points

Pittsburgh Penguins:

The Pittsburgh Penguins lost in overtime, 4-3, at Carolina on Sunday.

Tuesday night, Pittsburgh is scheduled to host the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Pens-Blue Jackets pregame show starts at 6:30. The opening puck drop is scheduled for 7 … on Connect FM and Sunny 106.

College Football:

The Penn State Nittany Lions have advanced into the semifinal round of the college football playoffs. Penn State will face Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl Thursday night. Kickoff time is 7:30. A win over the Fighting Irish would send the Nittany Lions to the National Championship game against either Texas or Ohio State.

 

Pittsburgh Steelers:

The Pittsburgh Steelers are limping into the AFC playoffs Saturday. Pittsburgh lost its fourth straight game, 19-17, to Cincinnati on Saturday. This Saturday, the Steelers must face the Ravens in Baltimore in the wildcard game of the playoffs. Kickoff time is 8pm.
