Pittsburgh Penguins:

The Pittsburgh Penguins thumped the Philadelphia Flyers last night, 7-3.

The next game for the Penguins is Saturday against the New York Islanders. We’ll have the pregame show at 7 Saturday evening. The opening puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 … on Sunny 106.

District 9 Basketball:

BOYS (Monday)

DuBois 69, Central Mountain 36 – Maddox Bennett netted 28 points for the Beavers

DuBois Central Catholic 53, St. Marys 38 – Marek Hoyt scored 25 points to lead the Cardinals

Elk County Catholic 62, Brockway 27 – Wil Wortman turned in a 20-point performance for ECC

The DuBois Holiday Basketball Tournament will be Friday and Saturday at the DuBois High School. The tourney involves the boys teams of DuBois, DuBois Central Catholic, Brockway, and Brookville. Live coverage of the tournament games will be provided for you on Connect FM, and on Tri County -dot- TV.

GIRLS (Monday)

DuBois Central Catholic 56, St. Marys 32 – Hope Jacob netted 14 points for DCC

Elk County Catholic 44, Brockway 24 – Mya Pistner scored 15 points for ECC

College Football:

The Penn State Nittany Lions are preparing for their next college football playoff matchup next Tuesday. Number 6 Penn State will face third-seeded Boise State in the New Year’s Eve Fiesta Bowl. Kickoff will be at 7:30pm.

 

Pittsburgh Steelers:

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a Christmas afternoon game coming up with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Steelers and KC kick it off tomorrow at 1pm.
