GIRLS

St. Marys 55, Brockway 25 – Molly Hanslovan contributed 24 points to lead the Lady Dutch

Clearfield 61, Central-Martinsburg 58 – Clearfield’s sisters, Eve and Mia Helsel combined to score 34 points for the Lady Bison

Ridgway 28, Bradford 26 – Emma Vargas netted 14 points for the Lady Elkers

 

College Basketball:

The Penn State DuBois men’s basketball team lost to Bryant and Stratton yesterday, 84-69.

Both the Penn State DuBois men and women’s teams will be playing at Penn State Mont Alto Friday evening

 

PIAA Football Playoffs

Following a pair of convincing wins last Friday night, the two District 9 football teams still alive in the PIAA playoffs advance into state championship games this week:

CLASS 1A

Thursday afternoon at 1, D9 champ Port Allegany with their 14-0 record will take on Bishop Guilfoyle at Cumberland Valley in Mechanicsburg.

CLASS 2A

D9 Champ Central Clarion, also 14-0, will be facing Troy in the state title game Friday afternoon at 1 in Mechanicsburg.

College Football:

The 11-1 Penn State Nittany Lions will play Oregon for the Big 10 championship, Saturday in Indianapolis.

 

Pittsburgh Steelers:

The 9-and-3 Pittsburgh Steelers host Cleveland this Sunday. The Steelers and Browns will kick it off at 1pm.

 

Pittsburgh Penguins:

The Pittsburgh Penguins are now on a four-game win streak as they held on to beat the Florida Panthers in overtime, 5-4 last night.

Friday night, the Penguins travel to New York to take on the Rangers. Tune in for the opening faceoff at 7pm, and you can catch the Pens-Rangers pregame show at 6:30 Friday evening … on Connect FM and Sunny 106.
