CLASS 1A District 9 Championship
Port Allegany 62, Redbank Valley 28 – The Gators tallied more than 450 rushing yards…Aiden Bliss with 308 yards and four touchdowns. Port Allegany will face District 10 champ Wilimington in DuBois Friday at 7pm.
CLASS 4A
D9 Champ Clearfield 27, D10 Champ General McLane 26 – Clearfield blocked a 24-yard field goal attempt with 14 seconds remaining to seal the win. Brady Collins ran for 186 yards and two touchdowns for the Bison, who improve their season record to 12-0. Clearfield will face another 12-0 opponent, WPIAL champ Thomas Jefferson, Friday night in Windber.
CLASS 2A
D9 Champ Central Clarion 41, D10 Champ Farrell 6 – The Wildcats scored three touchodwns in the first five minutes of the game … Central Clarion quarterback Jase Ferguson accounted for 388 yards of offense, 139 rushing and 146 passing. The Wildcats are 12-and-0, and will face 13-and-0 Cambria Heights, the champs of District 6, in Kittanning Saturday afternoon at 1.
District 9 Boys and Girls Basketball:
District 9 boys and girls basketball teams begin scrimmaging next week. The regular season schedules begin in two weeks.
Brookville and Brockway High School Sports:
According to a published report, the Brookville School Board voted Monday to have the school’s athletic programs join the KSAC (Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference) starting in the 2025-26 school year. All of the current KSAC schools still need to approve the move. The report also indicates that an invitation to join the league was extended by the KSAC to both Brookville and Brockway programs. Brockway has reportedly not made any decision regarding a possible move at this point in time.
