Keeping Your Vote Safe

UNDATED – With elections one day away, officials are ensuring that your voter safety is a top priority.

We spoke with Clearfield County Commissioner and Chair of the Election Board, Dave Glass, who believes that your vote is safe and secure.

“We take a precinct that’s give or take about two percent, but it’s random, so we don’t know which one it’s going to be and neither does anyone else, and we recount that precinct by hand,“ explained Glass. “We then compare it to what the machine said, and since nobody knows which machine we’re going to be sampling from, it’s a good way to test the system.”

Glass also addressed concerns over false voter registrations, assuring us that the systems in place are designed to combat false requests.

You are always urged to familiarize yourself with your polling location and key races in your area.
