Heaven gained another angel today. Edith Allean Fulton, age 76 of Luthersburg, PA died Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born on January 10, 1950 in Punxsutawney, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles “Chuck” Harvey and Doris “Jean” (Hopkins) Pearce.
Edith was a 1969 graduate of Harmony High School, and a 1970 graduate of DuBois Business College.
On November 15, 1970 she married Robert Larry Fulton in DuBois, PA. They celebrated a wonderful 55 ½ years together. He survives.
Edith was a stay-at-home mom until her children were in school. She retired from the DuBois Area School District as a Title 1 Teacher’s Aid for over 33 years. She loved working with the kids.
She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher. Edith was also active in 4-H.
Edith loved being on the farm. She was a horse lover, and there were always horses there to take care of. She would go for long rides with her daughters and friends. Edith loved the outdoors. She enjoyed swimming, bike riding, hunting, walking in the woods, and camping. She along with her family, had many pleasant visits to Kettle Creek and Kinzua, where they would sit around a campfire making mountain pies and s’mores, and reminiscing about family. Above all, she especially loved being a mother, grammy, and great grammy.
Along with her husband, Edith is survived by her three children; Susan C. Nighswander (Don) of Brookville, PA, Robert Douglas Fulton (Luciana) of York, PA, and Tammy D. Cary (Jeremy) of Desire, PA, five adored grandchildren; Derick Kelly (Jennie), Donald Nighswander (Trinity), Angela Parr (Phillip), Devin Kelly, and Camryn Cary, her very special precious, great grandchildren; Wesley Daniel Nighswander and Evelyn Rose Nighswander, siblings; Ronald D. Pearce (Mary), brother-in-law, Randy Fulton (Wanda), sisters-in-law; Penny Pearce, Sue (Wolfe) Pearce, and Debra Pearce, numerous cousins, and loyal four-legged baby Cooper.
She was preceded in death by brothers; Charles Harvey Pearce, Jr., Robert “Bob” Pearce, Gary Wayne Pearce, and Jody Smith, and sister Gloria Mack
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 4 – 6 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 11 AM from the funeral home with Pastor Ann Dixon officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Urey, PA.
